Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (Dewa) has received bids for the project to supply, install, test and commission a series of 132/11KV substations.
A total of 18 companies submitted bids for various packages on the project, which covers 12 substations.
The bidders included Larsen & Toubro and Jyoti Structures, both of India, Saudi Arabia’s Mass Projects for Power & Telecommunications, Saudi Modern Company for Metals Cables & Plastic Industry, South Korea’s Iljin Electric Company, Oman’s Bahwan Engineering Company, and China’s Sepco Electric Power Construction Corporation.
The other bidders were Saudi Arabia’s National Contracting Company, South Korea’s Samsung Corporation, France’s Areva, South Korea’s Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Europe’s ABB and Germany’s Siemens.
Five local companies also bid: Danway Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, Al-Mostajed Technologies, Emirates Trading Agency, ETA Star International and Emirates Electrical Engineering.
