Ahmad Ghuloom’s bid is fractionally lower than the next-best price of KD9.74m ($34.8m) submitted by the local Tareq al-Ghanim General Trading & Contracting Company. Kharafi National, also local, is ranked third on price at KD15.6m ($55.7m). Four other contractors bid for the work.
The contract covers the maintenance, repair, replacement, de-sludging, cleaning, testing, painting and associated pipe works at storage tanks at the north and south tank farms, the Mina al-Ahmadi crude pumping station, and the Burgan, Ahmadi, Magwa and Subkha oil fields (MEED 31:8:07).
The client is expected to award the contract by the end of the first quarter next year.
