Five companies line up for rental deal

Five companies have submitted bids for the project to supply temporary power in Oman.

The bidders include the UK’s Cummins Power Generation, Sri Lanka’s Lakhdhanavi, and three local firms, Al-Faris Equipment Rentals, Rentals Solutions & Services, and Ofsat Limited Company.  

The winning bidder will supply temporary rental power to Oman’s main interconnected system.

A total of 13 companies had bought the tender documents for the scheme.

Oman Power & Water Procurement Company (OPWP) is the client.

OPWP is also currently evaluating technical bids from eight groups for the planned Barka and Sohar independent power projects. The bidding groups are led by the UK’s International Power, Saudi Arabia’s Acwa Power International, Belgium’s Suez Energy International, Japan’s Marubeni Corporation, Saudi Oger, India’s Lanco Infratech, the US’ Balkan Energy Group and Iran’s Mapna Energy.
