Seven international EPC firms submitted prices for the construction of three separate gathering centres (GCs) numbered, 29, 30 and 31 on 10 February.
The Dubai-based firm, submitted the lowest prices for all three. Bids are summarised below:

However, contractor sources in Kuwait say the client, state-upstream operator, Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) is unlikely to award all three projects to a single firm. Dodsal is expected to take one GC deal, while the UKs Petrofac, which came in second on all three bids will take another. Indias Larsen & Toubro, which came third in two of the three bids could take the final GC deal.
Kuwaits oil fields are connected to 26 gathering centres, which serve as a collection location for crude oil produced at several wells connected by flowlines, providing initial treatment through the separation of associated gas and removing salt.
Dodsal also submitted the lowest price for another major deal with KOC at $948m, beating rival proposals from four other firms on 10 February. The project covers the construction of an effluent water treatment and injection facility in the north of Kuwait.
