Bids invited for Saudi Arabia pipeline scheme

Contracts cover the third phase of the Yanbu-Madina transmission system

Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) has invited bids from manufacturers to supply and contractors to install phase 3 of the Yanbu–Madina water transmission system.

The project includes five pipelines and associated pumping stations. The construction works will be tendered in three separate packages

The first package includes the construction of the pipelines:

  • 76-inch wide pipeline, 184.7 kilometres (km) in length
  • 48-inch wide pipeline, 16.8km in length
  • 36-inch wide pipeline, 56.9km in length
  • 60-inch wide pipeline, 2.7km in length
  • 24-inch wide pipeline, 1.3km and 15.4km in length

The second construction contract comprises two feeder lines. The Madinah Hanakiyah feeder line is to have a length of 45.8km with a diameter of 24 inches. The Madina Mahd feeder line is to have a length of 29.2km and a diameter of 32 inches together with a series of connected pipes.

The third contract is for the construction, supply and installation of 11 pumping stations.

Companies have until 29 November to respond to the construction tender. Bidders must obtain SWCC’s approval for forming a consortium partnership at least 21 days before the deadline.

Manufacturers have been invited to bid to supply the scheme. Prospective suppliers have until 31 October to respond.
