Billion-dirham revamp for Madinat Badr

The local National Engineering Bureau (NEB), which is acting as consultant on the estimated AED 1,000 million ($272 million) redevelopment of Madinat Badr in Dubai, is expected to complete detailed designs by May. The client is Dubai Islamic Bankreal estate subsidiary Al-Deyaar Development Company, formerly known as the Global Real Estate Development Company.

The project calls for the demolition and reconstruction of the Madinat Badr residential district located next to the proposed Dubailand development on the Emirates Road. The redevelopment entails construction of an entirely new township housing about 20,000 people. The residential complex will comprise villas and buildings ranging from one-three storeys. It will also entail mosques, shopping malls and leisure facilities.
