Blix still sceptical about Iraq WMD

20 March 2003
Executive chairman of the UN Monitoring, Verification & Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC) Hans Blix said in an interview with BBC Radio on 20 March that he would be 'very curious' to see what the US finds if it occupies Iraq.

'I am very curious to see if they find something,' Blix told the daily Today programme. 'If they don't find something, then they have sent 250,000 people to find nothing. But if he [President Saddam Hussein] has nothing, it is very curious why he made difficulties for inspectors in the past though not this year.'

Blix said that information provided by US and other intelligence services was consistently unhelpful in the work of inspection teams.
