Company will install additional infrastructure at the Wasit Gas Plant

Saudi Aramco has awarded Canadian engineering services firm SNC-Lavalin a contract to install additional facilities for a major gas processing facility in the kingdom’s Eastern Province.

Under the scope of work, SNC-Lavalin will construct the Arabiah Condensate Handling Facility and Sour Water Disposal Unit Project at the Wasit Gas Plant in Saudi Arabia. The work will include the installation of process equipment as well as related civil and structural, piping, electrical and instrumentation and control systems.

Work is already underway with a target completion date of late 2019.

SNC-Lavalin did not mention the exact value of the contract in its statement, saying only that it was worth ‘multi-million dollars’.

The Wasit Gas Plant is one of the largest gas plants to come onstream in Saudi Arabia. The facility is a key component of Aramco’s Vision 2030 goal to produce and process 23 billion standard cubic feet a day of gas in the coming decade to meet domestic energy demand.
