Haya Water opens financial bids from three other teams
A team of Spain’s Cadagua and the local Galfar Engineering & Contracting is the low bidder on the contract to build a wastewater treatment plant at Darsait in Oman.
The group bid OR33m ($85.7m) for the 50,000-cubic-metre-a-day (cm/d) Darsait plant in Muscat.
Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company with France’s Veolia priced the contract at RO59.6m.
France’s Degremont bid RO65.2m. A team of South Korea’s Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction and the local Bahwan Engineering Group submitted two prices, RO77.8m and RO78.9m.
Haya Water is the client.
The winning bidder will design, build, operate and maintain the Darsait plant. The contractor is scheduled to complete work on the project in 2011.
A 20,000-cm/d plant is already operating at the site.
