Canada’s EllisDon has been awarded two contracts for project management services in Qatar and the UAE.

In Qatar, EllisDon has been awarded the project management consultancy contract for the Commercial Boulevard and Qetaifan Islands developments at Lusail City.

The Commercial Boulevard is the anchor development within Lusail City and contains retail and food and beverage outlets. The Commercial Boulevard will cover 51 hectares of land. It will have a built-up area of approximately 7 million square feet and includes residential, hospitality, retail and commercial buildings.

For Qetaifan Islands, Ellisdon is working on islands 2 and 3, which is a luxury residential development on two man-made islands.

In the UAE, EllisDon has been awarded work in Abu Dhabi that covers the project management of the Ansam development on Yas Island for local real estate firm Aldar Properties.

Ansam consists of low-rise, medium-density apartments, together with excellent community facilities and retail outlets, all integrated with garden-style public areas that grant views of Yas Links Golf Course.

The first phase has 547 apartments. Construction work on the project has already started and will be completed in less than two years. The local Construction General Contracting House is the contractor. Lebanon’s Khatib & Alami is the consultant.

The Ansam development was launched by Aldar Properties in April 2014 as it launched three new major residential developments in the UAE capital worth a combined total of AED5bn ($1.4bn).
