German group triples Dubai capacity and plans new plant in Saudi Arabia
Germany’s Caparol has opened a paint manufacturing plant in Dubai Industrial City through a joint venture with Dubai-based Emaar Industries.
The AED40m ($11m) plant has the capacity to produce 30,000 tonnes a year (t/y), double the size of Caparol’s existing operation in Al-Quoz, Dubai.
The plant was built to meet demand from building and infrastructure developments in the GCC, Lebanon and East Africa. The company is also planning to start up a plant in Saudi Arabia over the next two years.
