Charles Thorpe
Position: Dean, Carnegie Mellon University at Qatar
Biography: Charles Thorpe is the first dean of Carnegie Mellon University at Qatar and is also a faculty member teaching robotics. He has a bachelor’s degree in natural science and a doctorate in computer science.
Previously, he was director of the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon in the US. Thorpe is a fellow of the American Association for Artificial Intelligence and has been a senior member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers since 1993.
