Successful well is the second in a six-well programme

Ireland’s Circle Oil has hit gas with its CGD-12 well in its onshore Sebou Permit, according to a statement released by the company on 7 October.

The well is the second drilled in the concession and forms part of a six-well programme.

The first test, over the secondary target Intra Hoot sands, flowed at a sustained rate of 2.21 million cubic feet a day (cf/d) on a 18/64” choke, according to the company.

The second test, over the primary target Main Hoot sands, flowed at a sustained rate of 4.62 million cf/d on a 24/64” choke.

Circle Oil says it intends to complete the well for future production and both Upper Hoot and Guebbas sands will be tapped for commercial production.

The rig used to drill the CGD-12 well is now being moved to a new location within the Sebou Permit, where it will drill KSR-12, the third well in the programme.
