Sharjah-based Al-Hamad Contracting Company has been awarded two contracts worth a total of AED 400 million-420 million ($109 million-114 million) to design and build new apartment towers and related facilities in districts 4 and 7 of the Dubai Marina development (MEED 16:8:02).
The 18-month project involves the construction of five towers of 24-44 storeys, offering one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. The project includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing and related works. Three companies priced the contract, with the other two being the local/Australian Nasa Multiplexand the local/UK Al-Naboodah Laing.
Canada's Core Architectsis the design consultant for district 4 and Architects Alliance, also of Canada, is the design consultant for district 7. The client is the local Emaar Properties, which is planning to develop 10 districts in Dubai Marina.
