Contract awarded for highway project

Dubai-based Wade Adams Contracting has been awarded the Umm Bab-Dukhan highway project contract.

Valued at QR 161 million ($44 million), the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract calls for 22 kilometres of road works, the construction of three interchanges, a main bridge near Dukhan of 150 metres in length, three small bridges, each of 40 metres, and five vehicular underpasses.

The facilities will take about 24 months to complete. The client is Qatar Petroleum.
