BIC Contracting (BICC) has been awarded a contract to refurbish and redevelop the Armed Forces Officers Club and Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
The works include the refurbishment of the main building’s central hub and east and west wings, as well as the construction of new facilities within the club and hotel grounds. The new facilities include a catering area, banquet hall, sports hub, retail and food and beverage village, beach villas and a beach club with a pool.
Construction is expected to be completed within 17 months.
BICC, which was formerly known as Al-Habtoor Engineering Enterprises, constructed the original Armed Forces Officers Club and Hotel in 1993. The distinctive curved concrete structure was the largest in the UAE at the time. An additional award followed for the east and west wings, which were completed in 1997.
