Decision over New Doha Port container terminal contract still pending
Contractors have until mid-February to submit their bids for the commercial terminal buildings package at New Doha Port in Qatar.
A total of 15 consortiums have been asked to bid on the contract covering the construction of two commercial terminals and associated utility buildings, and logistical facilities at the new port in Mesaieed.
The tender was released in early November, and MEED originally reported that the tender would be in the market for a 10- to 12-week period.
Contract awards are expected to be made by the second quarter of 2013.
The contract for the container terminal package was due to be announced in the final quarter of 2012, but a decision is still pending. It is expected to be made within the first quarter of this year.
