The three contracts total $197m
The local United Development Company (UDC) has awarded three construction contracts for its projects in Qatar.
The deals total QR716m ($197m) and are for developments on The Pearl-Qatar.
Leighton Contracting Qatar has been commissioned to carry out construction works of Al-Mutahidah Towers main building. The building has 480 apartments and is located in the Viva Bahriya precinct. Completion is expected in the fourth quarter of 2019. Leighton Contracting Qatar is an affiliate of the UAE/Australian Habtoor Leighton Group.
Indias Navayuga Engineering Company has been appointed to perform infrastructural works at Giardino Village, and the local Promer Qatar has been awarded a contract to build 10 villas at Giardino Village. The villas will be handed over within 18 months.
UDC says the contracts are aligned with its five-year business plan, which aims to revitalise its investments in The Pearl-Qatar.
