Copper company to invite bids for Iranian power plant

Power facility will supply electricity to copper plant

National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO) is planning to build a 500MW power plant at Rafsanjan in Mes-Sarcheshmeh city in Iran’s Kerman province.

The chosen contractor will build the gas-fired combined cycle power plant either on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis or engineering, procurement, construction and finance (EPCF) basis.

The scope of works consists of basic design, engineering and detail design, manufacturing and supply of equipment and materials, civil works, construction works, installation, testing and commissioning. The project is to be completed within 36 months.

International companies in partnership with a local firm where the Iranian company has at least 51 per cent ownership will be eligible to bid. Prequalification documents will be issued soon.
