Biography: Daniel Bergin became executive project director of the Sidra Medical & Research Centre in June 2006.

He has spent the past 20 years working in Australia’s public health system, including managing a 500-bed and a 900-bed teaching hospital.

He is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and an associate fellow of the Australian College of Health Service Executives.

From 1994 to 2004, he was a surveyor for the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards, and from 1991 to 1998, he was the Queensland representative to the National Council of the Australian Healthcare Association. He holds a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Queensland in Australia.
