Deadline extended on substation contracts

The Public Establishment for Distribution & Exploitation of Electrical Energy has extended the bid deadlines for three turnkey contracts to design and install 25 66/20-kV substations in six different regions.

The deadline for tender 255/A, involving the supply of 10 substations for the Damascus suburbs and southern region, has been extended by two weeks to 6 November. Three of the substations must be installed within 16 months, a further three within 18 months and the final four in 20 months. Support machinery should be supplied within six months.

The deadline for a second tender, to supplynine 66/20-kV substations for the Aleppo governorate and middle region, has been extended by a month to 18 November. The first three substations must be delivered within 16 months, with supporting machinery in the first six months. Three more stations are required within 18 months and the final three within 20 months.

The deadline for tender 255/C, to design and supply six 66/20-kV substations for the eastern and northern regions, has been extended by six weeks to 20 November. Three substations and the support machinery for all six stations must be delivered within the first six months of the contract. The remaining three substations must be installed within the next 12 months.

The three packages are financed by a Eur 150 million ($169 million) loan from the European Investment Bank (MEED 11:7:03).
