Dubai interior firm to perform fit-out works for government project
Dubai-based interior fit-out contractor Depa has signed a AED574m ($156m) contract for a major government project in Abu Dhabi.
While not providing the name of the scheme, the company said the scope of work includes the installation of structural steel and architectural woodwork, flooring and carpeting, as well as decorative supplements, wall coverings, and interior lighting fixtures covering 28,000 square metres. The project is due for completion in 2015.
We are delighted to have been selected to work on such a significant scheme, set to become one of Abu Dhabis most iconic landmarks, says Hasan Abdullah Ismaik, chairman of Depa.
In April, the firm won two new projects and one contract variation in Saudi Arabia for a combined value of more than AED250m. The company said the deals brought the current total value of contracts it has won in Saudi Arabia alone above the AED1bn mark.
