Design consultants sought for highways

Three local consultants Arabtech-Jardaneh, Consolidated Consultants and Engicon, are preparing to submit commercial proposals by 25 October for the design contracts on two highway projectstotalling $36.5 million. The first contract, worth $8.5 million, covers the upgrade of an 8-kilometre stretch of the Amman-Jerash highway at the entrance to Jerash, in the north. The second contract is for the upgrade of the 33-kilometre highway from Salt in the north east to Wadi Shouaib, and is worth $28 million. The same consultants are bidding for the $161million Ammandevelopment corridor project.The client is the Public Works & Housing Ministry.
