Japans Chiyoda is carrying out the front-end engineering and design (feed) study for a new bulk liquids terminal in Dubai, according to sources familiar with the project.
The terminal will be operated by DP World at its Jebel Ali site.
Phase 1A is planned to comprise nine storage tanks with a capacity of 26,500 cubic metres and associated facilities. Phase 1B will contain 24 storage tanks with a capacity of 29,500 cubic metres.
There is an optional Phase 1C, which would contain 15 storage tanks with a capacity of 44,000 cubic metres.
The feed study is expected to be completed by the end of November, but the tender for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract has not yet been floated.
