Local developer Meydan is planning a waterfront development in the Palm Jebel Ali area of Dubai known as Marsa Meydan.
According to the developer’s website, the buildings include villas, town houses and apartment buildings. A key feature of the masterplan is a boulevard that leads to a marina with a retractable roof that will offer a range of sporting, leisure and retail experiences. There will also be a 6.5 kilometre-long boardwalk.
Developers are planning a range of projects in the Jebel Ali area, which is close to the Expo 2020 site, Al-Maktoum International airport and Jebel Ali port.
For the Dubai Waterfront area next to the Palm Jumeirah, Nakheel has tendered infrastructure works for the Madinat al-Arab, which is a district for third party developers to build properties along the last stretch of natural coastline in Dubai.
Nakheel is also developing its own properties at Dubai Waterfront as part of its Jebel Ali Gardens development.
Further inland, the Dubai South development is home to Al-Maktoum International Airport, the Expo 2020 site and a range of other supporting projects that include residential districts such as Emaar South as well as business parks and logistics zones.
