Expression of interest due by 30 March
Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (Dewa) has issued the request for expressions of interest from developers for its first independent power project (IPP).
Responses from developers interested in taking a 51 per cent stake in the Hassyan 1 IPP are due to be received by 30 March.
Fatima al-Shamsi, senior manager of new business development at Dewa, had told MEED that the company hoped to start seeking interest from potential developers in March.
She also said that Dewa had approached the Dubai government about providing a payment guarantee on the project.
Once expressions of interest are received, Dewa plans to issue a request for proposals in April.
