The local Dhabi Contracting has started work on the estimated AED800m ($222m) construction package on the Forbidden City district at International City in Dubai.
The mid-rise residential development will offer 4,000 apartments and 50 retail units. Completion is expected in April 2011.
International City is a low-cost housing development off Emirates road in the Al-Warsan area, next to the Dragon Mart shopping mall (MEED 30:10:08).
