First phase of light rail network expected to be completed in 2019
Qatar Rail has extended the submission date to 23 August for expressions of interest (EoI) for the architecture finishes subcontracts for the first phase of the Doha Metro.
The subcontract covers fit-outs for the metro stations, provision of public entrances, envelope and elevated structures, and landscaping.
The first phase of the Doha Metro is expected to be completed in 2019. It requires laying 100 kilometres of track, an estimated 90 per cent of which will run underground, as well as the construction of 37 stations. The second phase of the project, scheduled for completion in 2026, will require 72 stations.
