Drake & Scull profits climb 7 per cent

Company plans acquisition of two Saudi companies

Dubai-based construction and engineering company Drake & Scull International (DSI) has reported revenues of AED411m ($112m) for the second quarter of 2010, with net profits of AED44.5m. This is up 7 per cent on the previous quarter.

The combined value of DSI projects in the first half of 2010 reached AED2.6bn, 17 per cent more than for the same period last year, with a backlog of AED4.8bn.

“We anticipate that this trend will continue through to the second half of the year, particularly with the planned acquisition of two Saudi companies during this time.” said Khaldoun Tabari, chief executive officer, Drake & Scull International.
