King Saud University contract entails mechanical, electrical and plumbing works

Dubai-based Drake & Scull International (DSI) has won a SR328 ($87.5m) contract to perform mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works at King Saud University in Riyadh. The company will design, install, test and commission complete electro-mechanical works for three buildings at the university’s Endowment Projects.

Work on the scheme will be completed by 2015.

“The King Saud University contract is highly prestigious for DSI and further consolidates our presence in Saudi Arabia as leaders in engineering [MEP, and water and power], as well as general contracting,” said Khaldoun Tabari, Drake & Scull International vice-chairman and CEO.

Earlier this week, DSI signed a contract worth about $30m to execute MEP works for the redevelopment of Mall of the Emirates in Dubai.

In 2013, DSI won contracts to execute the MEP works for the Fairmont Abu Dhabi Hotel and Serviced Apartments, the MEP for the King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh and a real estate development in the western city of Jeddah, both in Saudi Arabia.
