Dubai awards road contracts worth $56m

The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai has awarded two contracts worth AED205m ($56m) to local companies for upgrades to the city’s roads.

An AED118m contract to upgrade the Al-Nahdah II Project has been awarded to Emirates Roads Contracting Company. The work requires construction of 5km of new arterial roads, 19km of local roads, and 25 car parks and seven roundabouts.

The second AED87m contract, was awarded to Wade Adams Contracting. The company will build a new bridge on Al-Qudrah Road across the Dubai Bypass Road.
