Bridge will connect two parts of Jebel Ali Free Zone
Dubais Roads & Authority (RTA) has awarded the local Wade Adams Contracting a AED105m ($29m) contract to build a new flyover crossing Sheikh Zayed Road and connecting Jebel Ali Free Zone North and South.
The RTA received bids from contractors for the deal last year.
The low bidder was Wade Adams, with a price of AED107m, which was about 5 per cent lower than the offer of AED113m submitted by local/UK Dutco Balfour Beatty.
The other bidders were the local National Contracting & Transport Company at AED139m, Indias Afcons at AED145m, and local/Australian Habtoor Leighton Group at AED148m.
The consultant is UK-based Hyder, which is now known as Arcadis.
