The 150-metre-tall Frame Tower will be built at Zabeel Park in Dubai
Dubai Municipality has invited contractors to submit bids by 22 September for the estimated AED150m ($27m) contract to design and build a tower at Zabeel Park.
Known as Al-Berwaz or the Frame Tower, the 150-metre-tall structure will have elevators taking visitors to a viewing platform and cafe on a glass bridge that will offer views across the city.
There will be space for conferences and exhibitions on the ground floor.
The conceptual design proposal prepared by Fernando Donis of the Netherlands won the ThyssenKrupp Elevator International Architecture Award in 2009.
