Sama Dubai plans to build a cluster of towers at its Lagoons development. Known as Dubai Towers, the mixed-use development will comprise four 57-94 storey towers. Completion is scheduled for mid-2010. Located on the banks of Dubai creek in the Ras al-Khor/Nad al-Hammar area, the 7 million-square-metre project will have seven islands, comprising residential units, commercial towers, five-star hotels and shopping malls. US-based Parsons International is the infrastructure consultant. US-based Hill International is the project manager (MEED 19:5:06).

The local Dana Property Development plans to build an estimated AED 2,100 million ($572 million) residential complex in the International Media Production Zone (iMPZ) in Dubai. The development will involve the construction of 11 residential towers. Construction work is due to start in the first quarter of 2007 and will be completed by mid-2009.

A joint venture of three local developers plans to build a AED 3,000 million ($818 million) development at Jumeirah Village. Known as Plaza Mayor, the project will involve the construction of four 45-storey towers with a total built-up area of 300,000-square-metres around a large central court. The local Dimensions Engineering is the consultant. Makaseb Holding, Ishraqah and Ta'sees are the joint venture partners.
