Dubai Properties awards Mudon building contract to China State

Local developer Dubai Properties has awarded Beijing-based China State Construction Engineering Corporation a AED400m ($109m) building package at the AED55bn ($15bn) Mudon development in Dubailand.

The contract is the second to be awarded to China State at Mudon. In 2007 it was awarded a AED500m ($136m) contract for an earlier phase of building works.

It is also working for Dubai Properties on the Mirdif Gate project.

Mudon will provide housing for about 42,000 people and it will have five districts reflecting the architecture of Baghdad, Beirut, Cairo, Damascus and Marrakech.

The local Dewan Architect & Engineers is the consultant for the buildings. The local Wade Adams is working on the infrastructure. Cansult Maunsell, part of US-based Aecom, is the infrastructure consultant. UK-based Mace International is the project manager. Local developer Dubai Properties is the client (MEED 5:3:08).
