Projects will be built across the emirate

The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has invited companies to bid for six major road construction contracts in Dubai.

The RTA has set a closing date of 11 August for the Comprehensive Improvements of the Parallel Roads. The consultant for the project is US-based Parsons.

Two tenders have a deadline on 16 August. The first is the improvement of Interchange 7 on Sheikh Zayed Road in the Jebel Ali area. The consultant for the project is the local office of Aurecon. Aurecon is also the consultant for the other tender that closes on 16 August. That contract is for the Extension of Tripoli Road and the Improvement of Algeria Street in the Mirdif area.

Three tenders are due to be submitted. The first is for the Development of Latifa Bint Hamdan Street in Al-Quoz. The other two contracts are for the Upgrade of the Dubai to Al-Ain Road. The consultant for all three of those contracts is US-based CDM Smith.

The prospective bidders for the road contracts are:

  • Al-Naboodah Contracting (local)
  • Bel Hasa Six Construct (local/Belgian)
  • China State Construction Engineering Corporation (China)
  • Dutco Balfour Beatty (local/UK)
  • Khansaheb Civil Engineering (local)
  • Wade Adams Contracting (local)

The RTA is also expected to tender construction packages on the Shindagha corridor scheme later this year. The RTA awarded the local Wade Adams Contracting a AED611m ($166m) contract for the upgrade of an intersection as part of the Shindagha corridor scheme in February.
