Dubai Trade launches online insurance tool

18 February 2013

Online insurance product designed to strengthen Dubai’s position as trade hub

Dubai Trade, a government-backed entity, is continuing to work on improving Dubai’s position as a trade hub by developing online tools that can help traders conduct their business.

The organisation has announced the launch of Tradeshield, an online product offering cargo insurance to its customers. The online portal will allow visitors to request and compare quotes from various insurance providers.

Mahmood a-Bastaki, chief executive officer of Dubai Trade, told delegates at Exporta’s Middle East trade finance conference in Dubai on 18 February that this new tool will add to previous efforts to make doing business easier across the UAE.

Following the launch of the insurance tool, Al-Bastaki said Dubai Trade would look to develop an online tool that could help companies and banks with their trade finance processes.
