Dubai's Roads &Transport Authority tenders car parks

14 July 2008
The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has invited companies to bid by 11 September for a design, build, operate and transfer contract for eight multi-storey car parks in Dubai.

The buildings will be located in downtown areas where there is little parking space available, such as Deira, Bur Dubai, Al-Ras and Al-Naif, and will have three to five levels.

The successful bidders will operate the facilities for a fixed period of 15 years, after which they will have to be transferred to the authority, which may then lease them back to the original operators or to another operator.

The RTA is already building a number of major car parks as part of the Dubai Metro scheme (MEED 17:06:08).
