Overview
Qatar Foundation’s Sidra Medical Care and Research Centre is part Education City and located on the edge of Doha.
It will be a speciality teaching, medical research and clinical practice hospital, with a major focus on women’s and children’s health. It will have a built-up area of 332,450 square metres.
The facility will be primary teaching hospital of the Weill Cornell Medical College. A significant feature will be for it to use digital technologies, from basic administrative functions such as admissions, to the assembly and application of genetic coding in high-level research.
Scope includes six buildings:
- A nine-storey, 382-bed hospital
- High-risk / ICU obstetric ward (53 beds)
- Seven storey clinic and research building
- Accommodation for 350 nurses
- Service building
- Multi-storey car park
- Plus associated facilities
- Research MEED’s archive on the Sidra Medical Care and Research Centre
