Six parcels of land will be auctioned for developing wind farms
Egypt’s New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) has invited companies to prequalify for the project to develop wind farms.
NREA will provide land to qualified investors to develop 100MW wind farm projects. NREA will auction of six parcels of land in total, which will be located in the Gulf of Suez area.
The project is part of Cairo’s efforts to develop renewable sources of energy to boost power generation capacity.
In February 2012, the World Bank invited expressions of interest from consultants for the contract to advise on an energy audit and renewable energy study in Egypt.
