Emaar Healthcare seeks strategic partners

The healthcare division of the UAE's Emaar Properties is seeking to establish strategic partnerships to deliver 100 new hospitals, 500 health clinics and $5,000 million in turnover over the next 10 years.

Speaking at MEED’s Middle East Health Projects 2007 conference in Dubai on 4 December, Emaar Healthcare Group executive director Omar al-ShunnarHe said Emaar Healthcare’s initial projects are health clinics in its existing Dubai developments including Arabian Ranches, The Meadows and The Greens.

The company is building a 60,000 square metre medical centre in the Burj Dubai development close to Dubai Mall. “This will be close to a retail centre that will have 7 million visitors a year,” Al-Shummar said. The range of services it will be offer will be announced soon, he added. “We are looking for three things,” Al-Shunnar said. “We need strategic partners, hospital operators and to build the facilities themselves in our communities.”

Emaar Properties is a joint stock company listed on the Dubai Financial Market.
