The new company, Emaar Utilities, will initially be responsible for the utilities management of Emaar’s projects in Dubai.
Emaar Utilities will eventually provide utilities management support to other developments in the region.
Ahmad al-Matrooshi, Emaar’s UAE managing director, will be the new company’s chairman.
The board will include three representatives from Emaar and two from United Utilities.
“Utility management is one of the key areas in project management and has a critical role to play in managing water and energy resources,” says al-Matrooshi. “Through the new company, we are bringing all the utilities management services of Emaar under one umbrella, which will enhance customer service standards. We also aim to implement practical water conservation measures and sound environmental practices.”
