Emicool invests in Dubai plants

The local Emirates District Cooling Company (Emicool) plans to build two new cooling plants at Dubai Investments Park. The plants will supply up to 125,000 tonnes of refrigeration (TR) for five mixed-used projects in the park.
The local Emirates District Cooling Company (Emicool) plans to build two new cooling plants at Dubai Investments Park. The plants will supply up to 125,000 tonnes of refrigeration (TR) for five mixed-used projects in the park.

The first plant, called the Ritaj District Cooling Plant, will have a capacity of 50,000 TR and the second will have a capacity of 75,000 TR. They will provide chilled water to projects in the park, including 10,000 TR for the Ritaj Residential Compound, 3,500 TR for the Dunes Village and 10,000 TR for Dubai Lagoon.

The local Adearest has been awarded the construction contract for the Ritaj District Cooling Plant, which is expected to be completed by June 2008. Adearest will also manage the construction of the second plant, due to be completed by August 2008.
