Dubai-based Emirates Glasshas been awarded two large supply contracts, one for the Formula One complex under construction in Bahrain and the other for Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The company has begun supplying 11,000 square metres of its EmiCool glass, designed to reduce heat penetration, to the F1 track. The contract is scheduled for completion by the end of December. Emirates Glass will also provide 10,000 square metres of a similar product to cover the entrance to the DIFC. 'In the past we have concentrated on cementing our position in the local market, but we are beginning to branch out and look at Bahrain and Kuwait as well as further afield,' says general manager Jerry Dowling.
