Enabling works have begun and will continue until the middle of 2009.

The work is being carried out by Sama ECH, a joint venture of Sama Dubai and the UK’s EC Harris.

No value has been provided for the work.

The towers will form the anchor project of The Lagoons Central Business District and will comprise four towers covering residential, commercial, retail and hospitality.

The buildings range from 60 to 91 storeys.

The project is expected to be completed by 2014.

The Lagoons are being developed by Sama Dubai, a member of the government-owned Dubai Holding.

Sama Dubai has extended its Dubai Towers brand in a number of Middle East locations, including Qatar, with the Dubai Towers – Doha, and Saudi Arabia with the Dubai Towers – Jeddah.
