Dubai-owned Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc) has appointed Saif Humaid al-Falasi as group general manager.

Al-Falasi, who will report to Saeed Abdullah Khoory, group chief executive of Enoc, has more than 25 years experience in the oil and gas sector.

He has worked for several Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) subsidiaries and in joint ventures with international companies such as ExxonMobil Corporation of the US, France’s Total and the UK’s BP.

Enoc says one of his main roles will be to oversee the development of its upstream activities. Al-Falasi is an upstream specialist, having worked on several major field developments in Abu Dhabi.

Enoc’s upstream assets include London and Dublin-listed Dragon Oil, which has exploration activities in the Caspian Sea, and Dubai Natural Gas Company (Dugas), which is responsible for using Dubai’s natural gas resources.
