Etihad inks deal to reduce carbon footprint

Etihad Airways has signed an agreement with Abu Dhabi's alternative energy initiative Masdar, to co-operate across a range of activities to reduce the airline's carbon footprint through sustainable and energy efficient measures. Masdar will support the development of carbon management initiatives to ensure Etihad's compliance with the EU Emissions Trading Scheme, which comes into effect in 2012 for the aviation industry.
