Eurocopter hovers over Amman

Eurocopter, part of Europe's EADS, has been awarded a contract to supply the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) with four EC635 light twin-engined helicopters. Two of the aircraft will be delivered to the RJAF by the end of 2006, with another two to follow in early 2007.
Eurocopter, part of Europe's EADS, has been awarded a contract to supply the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) with four EC635 light twin-engined helicopters. Two of the aircraft will be delivered to the RJAF by the end of 2006, with another two to follow in early 2007.

Negotiations are ongoing for further orders, says a company representative. The EC635s are designed for night flights in extreme climates. The RJAF uses the helicopters for surveillance flights in border areas, anti-terrorist operations and VIP flights.
