Project estimated to be worth up to $1.3bn
Contractors have submitted bids for the main contract for Saudi Aramcos Hawiyah gas plant expansion project, according to a source close to the scheme.
The deal is estimated to be worth between $1.0bn and $1.3bn, and is part of a larger megaproject to expand gas processing capacity at Haradh and Hawiyah, which is expected to be worth $4.5bn.
Bids were submitted for the expansion project after a series of extensions to the deadline. Initially the deadline was set for 3 July 2017. This was subsequently pushed back to 1 August, then to 13 August.
The scheme will increase the Hawiyah plants capacity to 1,360 million cubic feet a day.

- Saipem (Italy)
- Tecnicas Reunidas (Spain)
- CTCI Corporation (Taiwan)
- Hyundai Engineering & Construction (South Korea)
- Petrofac (UK)
- Larsen & Toubro (India)
- JGC Corporation (Japan)
- GS Engineering & Construction (South Korea)
- Samsung Engineering (South Korea)
