

Due date for bids pushed back for a third time
The bid deadline for the three main engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) packages of Saudi Aramcos project to expand its Haradh gas facility have been extended for a third time.
Originally contractors were meant to submit bids for the three packages on 3 July. This was then pushed back to 1 August, then 14 August.
The latest deadline to be set is 22 August.
The three packages are:
- Package One - North Haradh Compression Plants (estimated budget: $1bn-$1.2bn)
- Package Two - Satellite Haradh Compression Plants (estimated budget: $1bn-$1.2bn)
- Package Three - South Haradh Compression Plants (estimated budget: $1bn-$1.2bn)
All three of the packages are part of a larger megaproject to expand gas processing capacity at Haradh and Hawiyah, which is expected to be worth $4.5bn.
Saudi Aramcos Hawiyah Gas Plant Expansion project is also a package in the larger $4.5bn megaproject. It is extimated to have a value of between $1bn-$1.3bn.
The Hawiyah Gas Plant Expansion project saw bids submitted on 13 August. The bid deadline was extended twice before bids were submitted.
The $4.5bn megaproject will expand existing facilities giving them the capacity to process more than 1 billion cubic feet a day (cf/d) of additional gas produced at the Ghawar onshore oil field the largest in the world.
